Wellness is an active process of becoming aware of, and making choices towards, a healthy and resilient life.

During the Radiant Life Debrief and Wellness Retreat we focus on these 6 areas of wellness in a very interactive way. We spend time looking at how to apply them into our rhythm of life, coming from the unique perspective of cross cultural living, with the goal of building resiliency within our lives.

Emotional Wellness REsources

In the Emotional healthy Leader book Peter Scazzero writes “Studies indicate that EQ (emotional quotient) is so critical that it accounts for 58% of performance in all types of jobs. In fact emotional intelligence in the workplace trumps almost every other factor-IQ, personality, education, experience and gifts when it comes to effective performance for leaders.” So how do we as missionaries stay emotionally healthy in an every changing world?

Intellectual Wellness resources

Gen 2:19-20 "So God brought them (animals and birds) to man so see what he would call them and the man chose a name for each one.” How do we continue to grow our intellectual health? Albert Einstein once said, “Creativity is Intelligence having fun.” How do hobbies, crafts, art, reading and normal cross-cultural living help grow out intellectual wellness?

Occupational wellness

In Gen 2:15 “God took man and set him in the Garden of Eden to work the ground and keep it in order.” Many of us understand the work part but we forget that God also modeled and created the rhythm of Sabbath rest and festivals. How do we set boundaries and priorities so that we stay in that healthy balance?

Social Wellness resources

In Gen 2:18 God made this statement “It is not good for man to be alone. I will make a helper who is just right for him.” We use that verse for marriage but it is much bigger than just marriage. How do we function well knowing our individual personalities as we work with others and in cultures that God wants me to influence.
